Project Reflection
For this project, we started by looking at the technology effect on happiness. Then we were tasked with making a research question based on technology. For my question I asked does technology decrease creativity in youths? After we came up with our questions we started out independents research on out questions which was hard because there isn't a lot of evidence on my
I have always been aware that we use a lot of technology in our everyday lives but I didn't realize everything we use pretty much is technology. This will be a big take away for me because now I am aware that technology does not just entail our electronics. I also learned a lot about how we don't see how much technology and just electronics are embedded in our everyday lives, and how much we rely on it.
At first, I really didn't know what I was going to do for my political cartoon. I never really drew a paper copy of it. I just got on the computer and started to work on it from there. I wanted to base it on how we aren't as creative when were just staring at a screen. So I did two head facing different direction one looking at there phone and one drawing, both with there brains showing. For the on their screen one, I did it all black and white and no ideas. For the drawing one, i made the brain full of colors and made ideas coming out of there head.
This was a lot of different writing and op-ed compared to an essay. I liked this form of writing a lot. We made short paragraphs which made it so u use one idea/topic for each paragraph. This is a good way to format a newsletter or article. Which is good information to know in case you need this in your future job.

Goodbye Creativity, Hello Technology
The use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work...Creativity. We are all creative in our own special way. Creativity is what causes advancement and growth.
It is one of the most important things in our everyday life. In an article from “The Edvocate,” states how creativity is important and why they say “The importance is paramount. Arts and creativity nurture well-being and assist learners in creating connections between subjects.”
The decrease in creativity in youths is because of electronic and technological distractions. It is not that the modern day kids aren't creative and that they don’t have that ability to make something. They don't give themselves the time or put in the energy to make something. How do we help to stop this before it's too late and kids have no drive to be creative?
As electronics become more and more prevalent in our modern day society we have begun to rely on them. You see more and more people on their cell phones, computers, or other electronic devices all the time nowadays. Whether people are using it for work, school, communication, or entertainment it seems that we are always in an electronic.
But we don't just see this in adults. Now the youth are starting to rely on their technology. Whether they're using it to play games, watch tv, or talk to there friends, kid our using electronics more than they used to. Robert Putman in the critical “Yes, the Internet Is Taking Up Time You Used To Spend With Actual People,” says, “The more people sit at home, alone, in front of a glowing screen, the less time we have to form the kind of social bonds with neighbors, friends, and organizations that help strengthen communities.”
It's not like just some kids have used a mobile device for some reason. “New research has shown that a staggering 97% of US children under the age of 4 use mobile device, regardless of family income.” This shows we are being introduced to these devices at a young age and using them as a main source of entertainment. So how does this affects kids creativity and is it decreasing it?
As more kid is being introduced to electronic devices at a younger age they use these as a main source of entertainment. This decreases creativity because instead of drawing, painting, and playing outside kids sit inside playing games on the screens. Over the last 50 Schwarzrock and other scientist have been tracking kids creativity score “With creativity, a reverse trend has just been identified and is being reported for the first time here: American creativity scores are falling.”
Yes, there are somethings we use our devices for that you could argue increase our creativity. We could use our devices to look up creative things to make. Does this really help us to be the most creative we can be if we're just copying something off the internet?
It is clear that kids are spending a lot more time on screens than they have in the past. In the modern day, children spend half as much time outside as their parents had when they were kids.
